The Shaolin Kung-Fu Academy is the only martial arts school in British Columbia that specializes in one on one instruction. It means that every student can learn at his/her own speed of comprehension, which cannot be accomplished in a group environment. We simply have a better teaching method that optimizes every student’s ability.

All martial arts schools teach in a group setting — it means that there are 30 students or more to one instructor, so for example, if you divide 60 min by 30 students you get 2 minutes per person! What can one learn in 2 minutes? Well, not much…. Here at the Academy, every student receives a 60 minute lesson, one on one training with the instructor, every week —- a world of difference! We still have group classes; you need other students to practice with, especially people that are bigger, stronger and faster than you in order for you to become well skilled.

Because the learning method is one on one with the instructor – for this reason one year at the Academy is equivalent to five years at any other school that teaches in a group environment. That is why Shaolin Kung-Fu Academy is the best place to study martial arts in British Columbia.

Even though we specialize in one on one martical arts instruction, the Academy is very competitively priced compared to other martial arts schools’ group only settings.

The cost of one on one martial arts training at our school is similar to the cost of group classes at any other schools in the Vancouver area.

In order to minimize students’ costs, the Academy does not charge testing fees, (we don’t sell ranks/belts), there are minimal uniform and sparring gear requirements. There are no other hidden charges imposed during your training for items such as: books, videos, special equipment, clothing, bags, etc.
